Dolce & Gabbana Make Up introduces Khol Collection
With provocation and irreverence a recurring theme throughout their collections, it’s no wonder that Dolce & Gabbana appeals to young women with a naturally confident aura and a nonchalant style. Call it attitude, or a youthful spirit, this mood is intrinsic to everything Dolce & Gabbana conceive and key to their Italian heritage, revealing itself in the new Khol Collection that has been inspired by a theme of aristocratic wildness.
You can trace such attitude back to the stars of the golden age of the Italian cinema such as the daring Sofia Loren in “Scandal in Sorrento” from Dino Risi, known for her seductive eyes and scandalous behavior. This heady mix of confidence and beauty converges in the compelling theme of the Khol Collection where fashion with attitude meets colour with drama.
Introducing Dolce & Gabbana’s Newest Muse
Who better to represent the bold and irreverent spirit of Khol Collection than young British actress Felicity Jones? The Oxbridge educated actress, who began acting at the age of 11, brings a confident voluptuousness, femininity and freshness to the role of ‘aristocratic sauvage girl’.
For Dolce & Gabbana’s Khol Collection, she stars as an enigmatic and alluring young star in the advertising campaign shot by famed fashion photographic duo Mert and Marcus. “She is naturally provocative,” says Domenico Dolce. “There’s something assured and challenging about her gaze which makes you realise that she doesn’t care what anyone thinks.” “She’s got that high-society girl attitude,” adds Stefano. “You can see it in the way she holds her head, the way she looks at you. It’s all in the eyes.”
“There’s something very luscious and young about her face,” says Pat McGrath, Dolce & Gabbana creative advisor, who created the look for the Khol Collection. “Using the Khol pencils to define Felicity’s eyes really brought out this beautiful confidence in her expression. She looks at you with such knowing assurance.”
“I love how make-up can change the way you look and feel,” says Felicity. “As an actress, I consider it part of my professional tool kit – I definitely use make-up to help get me into a role – and in real life, I love its ability to transform me for special occasions.
Representing Dolce & Gabbana’s Khol Collection was a real thrill. Getting to work with such talented photographers as Mert and Marcus, getting to wear such beautiful clothes, having my make-up and hair done to perfection – it doesn’t get much better.”

The khol pencil comes in five shades: Peacock – a vivid blue/green; True Black – a rich carbon colour; True White – for highlighting and brightening the eyes; Chocolate – a velvety, cocoa shade; and Dahlia, a deep burgundy hue mixed with a hint of grey.
The eyeshadow – Smooth Eye Colour Quad
To further intensify the eyes, enriching and enhancing the effect of the khol pencil, and the eyeshadow quad in Femme Fatale encapsulates a set of the ultimate neutrals. Highlight the brow bones and inner corners of the eyes using shimmering white. Create depth and drama using carbon black. Select in between shades of perfect taupe and loam brown for shading, shaping and adding tonal depth.
The nail lacquer – Intense Nail Colour
A collection of Intense Nail Colours in shades that perfectly match the Intense Khol Eye Crayons, brings a dramatic flourish of fashion colour to the fingertips.
